This project is a technical school spanning 8,700 sqm on an 8,500 sqm plot, located in the heart of Shiraz. Sponsored by the renowned Emtiaz charity family, the school aims to serve as an educational hub, training young people in skilled trades and professions. The program includes 23 classrooms, seven double-height workshops, a library, an IT center, offices, playgrounds, and various other supporting facilities.
The design concept was inspired by traditional Persian architecture, particularly the central courtyard layout found in many historical local homes. In line with the programmatic requirements provided by the Ministry of Education, the project incorporates three courtyards, each serving a distinct function. The first courtyard serves as the main entrance, welcoming visitors. The second courtyard is dedicated to student gatherings and social interaction, while the third courtyard houses the playgrounds and sports courts. These courtyards are interconnected, creating a cohesive flow throughout the campus.
Classrooms are strategically placed along the second courtyard to minimize noise disruption, while the workshops are situated next to the playgrounds. This arrangement allows for the creation of a separate service access for the workshops, apart from pedestrian pathways, as per the project requirements.
To keep costs down, the building facade is finished with cement plaster and paint, offering an economical solution while still providing an appealing and functional appearance. The green color palette was selected to bring vibrancy, cheerfulness, and a lively atmosphere to the school, creating an environment that is both inspiring and welcoming for students.
