This residential building was designed on a challenging 9-meter wide, parallelogram-shaped plot, constrained by strict municipality regulations regarding occupancy and footprint. After extensive negotiations with the municipality to finalize the program, areas, and other details, we focused on creating a dynamic design that would counteract the stillness and uniformity often caused by the narrow width and segmentation of the facade.
To achieve this, each floor is designed to slide over the one below it, creating a sense of fluid movement. The use of thermo pine wood for the facade, with strips aligned in the direction of this movement, further enhances the dynamic effect. The building spans 1,150 sqm across six floors, without a basement, and accommodates five single residential units.
